I think the show runners don't know how to make a procedural but must do so to appease Fox. That's why all those bits seem so circumspect (and boring! If Chloe tells Lucifer to be respectful of the murder victim ONE MORE TIME.. I swear. Or that Lucifer always has her back?/???? He's always ditching her to do stuff on…

This show is consistently good at casting its bit players. Remember the weird auctioneer who had Luci's wings? That was my favourite performance from an actor in any show this year. He's playing Don Glover's dad in Atlanta but he's being more nuanced. I would watch a show with that guy as funny kingpin.

I disagree. The LAPD stuff has always been poorly done. In fact everything factual or as Latoya says grounded is nigh on implausibly set up. It's the angsty celestial family drama (with laffs !) that I am here for.
