I loved CB. And MK I was good too. Was it the gravelly voice with CB that turned you off?

Bring Back Firefly!

It the transatlantic accent of the posh yanks.

I'm the exact opposite. There was one episode I was tearing my hair out, it was so slow.

I didn't even notice the teeth I was too:
'He's not going to …eat..the BLAKE!!!!!?????'

As someone who hasn't read the book or attentively watched the film I didn't get any of the symbolism until I read the review and comments. I wonder whether coming in cold the Red Dragon as a character will make sense.
I also didn't get the duality of the character - I thought Francis wants to be the Dragon, because

Care, man. Care away.

I've never heard it referred to as that!

I've finished the season now, and I'm more confused than ever. I think I need to digest it all. Shame Avclub never did a write-up of the show. Tried to read the Guardian's but they were not great.

That's cool.
I don't know if I would cast it as victim blaming because I see Cubitt as strongly stating that culture has a lot to do with how it makes us and how it makes Paul. I see all the different female characters as archetypes to an extent so Katrina (teenager) being complicit does not indict Sally Ann (wife).
I

This is great! Thanks so much.
I was also wondering whether the character was indicting women too - like all the swooning over the Boston bombers and the Colorado movie theatre gunman. There can be a tendency in us to crush on beautiful men like they were all in One Direction or something.

Except not disfigured. Or divorced.

Hey it's cheaper than a chiropractor!

I'm reminded of Alexander Siddig's Random Roles, where he says that he threw away a lot of enhanced genetics lines in DS9. Perhaps Mikkelsen was doing the same considering how verbatim it is to Manhunter (and Harris I presume). It is hokey, and this iteration of Hannibal is not hokey. He was right to phone it in.

In the sense that Hannibal had psychically driven Spock to choke on the prompt 'how can I help you?' in order to see what Bedelia would do and to implicate her.

But remember she had been Hannibalised.*

Hijack away!
Yes, I really like the writing for the character and her precociousness, I was just unsure what role she has thematically.

I'm watching s2 right now. Very strange. I like all the performances but I'm not sure about he piece itself. Though I remember feeling that way about s1 (which was good with caveats); I'm at ep4, what are your thoughts about the teenage girl? I guess this is hijacking the thread. Sorry.

Yum, and who do you think ye are? The Queen?
But seriously, yum.

Gassy Hannibal you don't want to meet on dark night.
