Harley owners have soured me on the brand (seriously, fuck your noise). I won’t be buying an electric Harley for myself or my kid. The sooner that company dies the better.

There hasn’t been a claim rule in Lemons for like a decade.
That’s funny, because I almost titled this “Everything about this is excellent.”
For most of them, it isn’t even a hobby, they just like owning things, people, etc.
Sometimes you cannot drive them because you do not have the time. Using myself as an example, I have four cars and two bikes I wish I could drive more but can not.
If you have the money to have 40+ cars sitting around in a “climate controlled facility”, you probably self-insure.
haha- Yeah I chuckle about that sometimes. “Oh i love driving that car”... Then all of a sudden I realize I’ve put 300 miles on it in 4 years.
Collectors do not buy cars because of the rate of return. Only speculators care about the rate of return.
I’m not the best car collector, but I slowly age and become more of that stereotypical type that gets hate mail. I don’t have any under covers because I want to be able to see them. I also am more of the Jalopnik, go out there and drive the dang thing type... but that may be just 100-150 miles a year... but I can…
Everyone is assuming he missed out on the joy of driving the NSX. Well he did miss out on “this” NSX, but what’s saying he didn’t own two? Or one of every year? If you have a collection of 40 gathering dust, it’s likely the wheels are spinning on at least something interesting.
Thanks for the first-hand point of view. I’ve tried making this argument before and was not welcomed kindly. You can be a car enthusiast about the aesthetic qualities, detailing, etc just as much as someone who enjoys the driving. Who of us is to say that a collector who lovingly cares for their cars in a garage is…
1. Collector car insurance is cheap. I pay only a few hundred dollars per car, including italian exotics... especially if you don’t drive them or put mileage caps on them.
2. If you have more than a handful, you normally don’t even insure individual cars, you insure the entire collection. This is even cheaper... think…
I never really understood this point of view. Sure cars are meant to be driven but why do you care if someone else drives theirs? Someone else not driving their car doesn’t prevent you from driving your own car(s). If you don’t like it so much go buy a low mile car and drive the hell out of it.
Rarely can one profit from their hobby
You’d be hard pressed to build an equivalent for less. That interior alone has thousands in it, this definitely isn’t a junkyard build...
Exactly. There has been many a car here that gets plenty of NP votes where I can’t imagine anyone who earned the money would actually spend it on the car. This particular car is a perfect example, I can’t imagine the 1 in 5 people who voted NP would really pony up $35k in cash for this car.
Once blew $35k on a weekend in Las Vegas, while this would last longer, and not require antibiotics, I still think LV was more fun. CP
I feel ya bro but logically, I’d still have a hard time dropping that coin. Oh but emotionally, I’m right there with you!
This is another sad to cast CP. There's almost nothing about the car that isn't tasty, but 35k is just too much money..
I would too. But even as an e30 obsessed maniac I have to admit that’s CP.
