Same. Same same same. I’m so glad she’s doing better, and it *seems* from the outside looking in that he’s not exploiting her, but I do absolutely despise the legal precedent it creates.
It’s a LOT of power to have over someone’s life, even if that person is severely mentally ill.
I think the main concern being raised is that he REMAINS a conservator, rather than a trustee or just power of attorney or something that’s less strict but is still something of a security blanket. It’s a LOT of power to have over someone’s life, even if that person is severely mentally ill.
That could be a possibility, but if she is indeed that severely mentally ill, she shouldn’t be performing a show in vegas every week. Either way there’s definitely some shady shit going on.
I completely understand how it was established - she has serious psychiatric issues, a family history of schizophrenia, she was involved with drugs, etc. I don’t understand how it’s still happening.
That’s an interesting question. It’s a really interesting question, and the answer is (at least in my state, which is not hers, AFAIK, and probably not yours) “Maybe”:
Can she vote?
Gorillas can be dangerous, so let’s just give her to chimpanzees instead.
First paragraph is a whole different conversation. Which would be interesting and I would enjoy having it another time, but it’s off-topic here.
You’re assuming an awful lot of good things about a person who helped push her into this career when she was still just a child.
He probably does.
And yet ... You're reading a gossip site.
Sounds like what homegirl really ought to have, if she does in fact like having someone else manage her money, is a trust with a disinterested trustee (or just a fucking accountant/financial manager?!), not daddy as conservator. It didn’t even occur to me that this conservatorship still existed until I saw this…
I don’t have a law degree but have always been interested in this case (I like Britney). It made sense to me that it was ordered during her breakdown, which was pretty severe.
I have a law degree and I still can’t wrap my head around how her conservatorship was ever legal.
The only person here talking about drinking while breastfeeding is borgohuris. No one else. She (? - I’ll go with it, I need a pronoun) talked about feeding the baby while still drunk or hungover, in response to a remark that clearly described waiting “until it’s all been metabolized out.”
The only person here talking about drinking while breastfeeding is you. Just you! No one else. You talked about feeding the baby while still drunk or hungover, in response to a remark that clearly described waiting “until it’s all been metabolized out.”
The OP is being being extremely and openly direct about it.
