A movie to see once for any pop culture completist, and then never again.
That sounds impressive, but that’s only 25 elections. So it’s happened 20% of the time. The percentage goes up once you start factoring in that not all of those elections were against a sitting president. That drops it down to 15(I think?) and about a 1 in 3 shot. It’s such a limited sample that the advantage feels…

Unfortunately, INXS was the best Aussie band that Australia could come up with.
I’m feeling both sides of this issue. I’m not horribly sensitive/aware of Arab or Muslim stereotypes, so I can’t really get a sense of what’s a harmful stereotype and what’s just authentic culture attached to a villain, but if the former is there, it shouldn’t be there.
It doesn’t matter if “in his mind he’s not abusing her” if in actuality he’s abusing her. Expressing interest in spywork is not consenting to mean-spirited humiliation at the hands of what should be a trusted loved one.
I think there were far fewer non-terrorist portrayals of Muslims or Arabs in media at the time. Nowadays it seems like a quaint complaint about True Lies, since there are a lot of depictions of those demographics that are something other than terrorists.
Every time I see a sign warning of work being done on a bridge I think of that scene. “OH GOD HARRY, THE BRIDGE IS OUT!”

so many jokes are just straight up cartoon logic, too. obviously there’s the uzi falling down the stairs bit, but for my money when the bird lands on a truck and then it falls and explodes? that’s the good stuff. that’s literally looney tunes.
It made me sad that someone who seemed so full of joy and enthusiasm felt he needed to gradually remove himself from public life.
So, if someone is having a shitty day and does something shitty, but not physically harmful, identity theft is on the table? Also, looks like that wasn’t where it ended, and you have no idea what she ended up doing and how it may have harmed or hurt innocent people.
