I agree with you. I'm rating the show against itself more than anything.

I had the ingredients in an early draft but it's just a list so it kind of dragged the writing down. It's grated Parmesan cheese, sweet bell peppers, flake salt, shallots, and a small amount of basil, oregano, and thyme.

You're totally right. I was doing a bit of generalizing, to be sure.

There's some boxes that have a nice assortment you could check out. My favorite seasonings are Old World, Galena St., the taco seasoning (amazing on vegetables!), Brady St. (put it on popcorn), and Sandwich Sprinkle.

A lot of people make a compelling argument for the salt grinder. I was trying to get at the fact that people extrapolate the salt grinder to be achieving the same results as the pepper grinder. Making salt smaller is fine. I'm okay with that use. I think Kosher salt is the best because of its big surface area (it's

Aw, that's awesome!

I am being a little hyperbolic with the ground pepper. Certainly Penzeys is constantly grinding new pepper so that even by the time you buy it it's still really fresh and not the old dusty stuff I'm complaining about. But I don't understand why you would use even good pre-ground pepper when you can get it the absolute

I liked Men Explain Things To Me a lot, but I liked Mother Of All Questions more. So yeah, I'd say start with this one.

I honestly think going in blind is the way to do it.

She's on an every-other day schedule.

It hasn't come up enough to warrant an entry, but I think those are fine.

We can make that happen.

I had no idea this was an issue. I'll secure a set date for it in the future. Warning: This month's WAYR is coming in the last week of December, because our calendar is so packed before Christmas. Sorry.

All good points, and I'd like to add that we *are* a pop culture website, so we're focused on the sorts of pop culture books the readers (and ourselves) are interested in, and the sorts of pop culture-related books other outlets don't cover.

Wow, What Are You Reading is really important enough that you'd like a notification when it goes up?

I love the idea of a spoiler space for book reviews to give commenters a way to discuss the books. It could be our own little book club. Thanks for the suggestion. I do think it's a little harder with books compared to films and TV shows, because it's a multiple-hour, multiple-day commitment to read a book, as opposed

First, let me just say how happy I am about this discussion here. I did not expect a good convo out of this book review.

That does make sense. What I'm saying is that we can enjoy something even if we find certain things about it problematic. The rape jokes in Blazing Saddles are unacceptable. So is the blackface scene in Holiday Inn. And the homophobia in Wedding Crashers. But I still love all three of those movies, even if those

Blazing Saddles is one of my all-time favorites. Those jokes are horrible. The overall movie is great. We can critique the jokes and still love the text.

OH. Good one, guys!
