Say what you will about ASBAR, it was great to see a hooker and Batman team up instead of Batman just beating her up.

I don't know if they could do her powers justice on a TV budget. She'd be great as an audience surrogate in Inhumans, though.

He's Spider-Man, so he's going to sell no matter what. People are still reading TASM in 2015, so anything Spidey related is not a risk for them as a publisher. I don't know if that's what she was going for, but that's my two cents.

I read the first issue, in which she appears on one page, and immediately realized it was just a publicity stunt and haven't looked back to it. It seems to have worked seeing as they've gone through three printings.

To be fair, 80% of the internet is basically references to some obscure anime no one has ever watched.

They replaced Lobdell in that series, with Tynion IV no less? In that case I might have to pick that one up.

Iron Man's rogue gallery is basically off-brand versions of Iron Man, racist Cold War caricatures, and Madame Masque.

More like Green Lantern, only with fans that aren't anywhere near as annoying.

Or with my local comic book store clerk who makes a habit of wearing Carol Danvers-related clothes on Wednesdays?

I'm going to be killed for saying this, but I haven't really liked the X-Men aside from when they were being written by Grant Morrison. And there are loads of Superman fans who have given up on him in the New 52.

I find that problematic.

She's not super racist, into incest, or the result of a failed attempt to replicate the super soldier serum, is she?

Reminds me of what Rifftrax said about Jar-Jar: "It isn't so much inherently racist as it is more broadly offensive. He's annoying in a more metaphysical sense." Adam Sandler is repugnant to the very soul, and in his contempt for all of humanity is no respecter of persons.

Every white Southerner claims to be part Cherokee or Choctaw these days. I think it's a way to distance themselves from the Plantation class, which was definitely not big on intermarriage. Might be true, but doesn't give you any insight into what it's like growing up Indian.

I was rereading some old Lee-Kirby Avengers comics this week and it was weird to see them talk in pompous "I own a thesaurus and graduated high school" sentences rather than Buffyspeak.

Most Germans assumed it just meant Hitler liked death metal and Punisher comics.

First they don't use Captain America's name in the titles of Cap movies, now this?
