Enough for what? Yes, he has written storylines with sexist undertones, therefore I think his feminism is flawed. I still think he genuinely identifies with feminism, I still think he's a great writer, and I think people should still watch his stuff if they want to. I just also think we should consider his ex wife's

I don't think the article mentions that, actually. The article talks about his treatment of his wife, manipulating and cheating on her while sticking with the marriage out of fear that divorce would tarnish his reputation. It also makes some points about sexism in BTVS that I don't quite agree with, but there are

I think you may be unclear on what people are upset with him for. I agree though, I think it would be great if he apologized and I hope people will take it into consideration if he does.

He should definitely not apologize for any of those things. Lots has been written about the problems with his work (many of which were far more thoughtful than this article, I must say) which I recommend you look at if you're interested. But of course that doesn't mean he or his work should be totally vilified.

Awesome! If you've honestly thought about it, and it seems you have, that's great. I actually agree that the issues raised in this article are not that big a deal or even very demonstrative of the actual problems in the show.
Personally, S6 was very difficult for me to stomach - while many of the misogynistic moments

I think this article doesn't do a great job of explaining the problems with Buffy and Whedon's other works. He has definitely written excellent female characters and given them rewarding storylines, but he's also drastically and harmfully missed the mark several times. You don't have to hate the guy or his work - in

What's weird about it is his refusal to acknowledge that inherent clumsiness. You can't truly be an ally with any group unless you're willing to see that you have misconceptions or biases against them. Whedon has always been self-congratulatory about his feminism while writing many disturbing storylines, and as far as

BTVS is a flawed but overall quite feminist show and should still be enjoyed, though it may be helpful to viewers to critique its less feminist moments. Joss Whedon has been uneven and often offensive in his portrayal of women for a long time, but he's not the only creator of Buffy; a TV show is a highly collaborative

I love that Morty is getting subtly smarter and more assertive, calling Rick out on his bullshit

Ah I see, so I missed who Carey Gold's daughter is. That makes sense. This show is so fucking dense

zombie ISIS

I know you have to suspend your disbelief with this show pretty much as soon as you sign up, but I found myself stepping back from iZombie's world a bit with this episode and finding some things totally nonsensical. Firstly, and most broadly: why the fuck has no one just told the government about zombies? Like, in the

I'm a big Titus fan but I have to disagree, this is definitely Jacqueline's year

I agree in part that it would've been interesting to see Blaine become a Spike figure, but I think that during his fake amnesia he did really try to atone. I think he wanted a clean slate only half to get Peyton, half to get the chance to be better - when he confesses to her, he really earnestly tells her that this

Yes of course she is I'm saying she's not just cutesy, there's more to her

Francesca!! Does!! Have!! Personality!! She's not just ~cutesy~, she's genuinely funny and silly and stands her ground, not just agreeing with what the men around her expect (i.e. criticizing Clash of the Cupcakes, "it tastes like ham"). I've said this in a previous comment but I think people are reading her as

I loved this episode but it also PISSED ME OFF because I've had the exact same idea for a short film marinating in my brain for like a year, down to the directing (cry-laugh face). But it's so beautifully done I'll have to put my bitterness aside.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm biased by my love of ~romance~, but I can't help but disagree with the criticisms of Francesca. No, she's not as dimensional as Dev, but to me that's just because we don't know her as well. I feel like we're assuming that because she's pretty and charming there's nothing else going

honestlyyy

HAHA YES sometimes Louis CK is brilliant but it's just soo not worth it for me to trudge through all the "funny 'cause it's gross" shit. There are loads of comedians who are better at pushing boundaries and even being a lil offensive but ultimately THEY are the butt of the joke which makes it much easier to stomach.
