It’s not like this for everyone; I cannot imagine not talking about serious, real stuff with my wife, or she with me. I mean, it’s not all Serious Relationship Talk all the time, and sometimes one or both of us need time to figure out what we think/feel, or one doesn’t want to immediately unload on the other.

The fact is that you don’t know what can happen when you confront the police. They could use violence to force you to comply, someone in your own group could even instigate it but you’re still taking a risk as a participant.
