As someone who travels around a lot I find it's the USA that has the weirdest attitude towards sex, [ahem]

You just described every JRPG, ever.

Well armored female in a dominant position as a knight vs her boyfriend/husband. Would be nice if this were the rule and not the exception in video games.

Oh shit, I hadn't even noticed that before.

I don't know if Attack on Titan exactly fits into that, as I think it's arguable that some Japanese series have been doing this for a long time now. It's kind of a Japanese thing to be willing to have characters die. It just hasn't been as popular in more recent anime, until recently.

I think you've missed the point by a wide margin. This is Neil deGrasse Tyson taking a moment to teach people a thing, using popular media as a backdrop.

Oh, a passive aggressive response! One more for my internet reply bingo.

Nah I'm male too, and trust me we're not all that bad, we just have a...very vocal minority that's bitter and angry that every issue that comes up isn't directly about them in some way.

The hardest part is getting them to realize that by tearing down these women that are trying to fix things is only continuing to

Guys, listen to me very carefully. If I where in front of you, I would gently cradle that delecate head of yours and hold you close so that you can never loose eye contact with me and could read my lips in case any of these sounds I'm making go in one ear and out the other. Are you ready? Paying attention? okay,

"guy in distress" does exist, but it is not the physical form we normally see with female characters (ie. they are kept away in a tower/castle and you must get to them) but the emotional kind (ie. they have to be saved from themselves). Think Star Wars were Ben, then later Luke, take it upon themselves to save Vader

Well on a less creepy note, here's something I like to do on GTA V.

I haven't cared for Halo in years, but thank you for your concern. I can always pick up a used copy if I change my mind.

I love this answer, because it is such a beautiful example of someone creating convoluted scenarios to fit their prescribed worldview when confronted with conflicting information. Spectacular.

I want to buy A Machine for Pigs, but if it's anything like The Dark Descent I'll play for a half hour then quit because I'm too scared.

I read through this thread when you tweeted it last night, and after much confusion...
I've realized I must devote my life to trying to understand the bodybuilding.com community. Their language, their customs...
