Blackberries! Yum :) I once picked huckleberries in Washington with my aunt—it was divine.

Ooo, a butterfly bush! That should be lovely! I am still trying to bounce back from what I now think was the flu earlier this week. Hopefully you’ll be able to get back in the garden this coming week!

We’re farther west, so Aspen got a bunch of snow but since we’re downvalley, we got rain, or stuff that started as snow and melted as soon as it hit. We get very different weather than the front range, but Aspen’s happy about their snow. Plus, it’s off-season so the locals can have their fun without all the rich

Yeah, that’s part of why our town made it the town flower! We even have a Dandelion Day celebration in the park, and vendors sell all sorts of Dandy products!

That’s sounds like a great garden! I know for tomatoes you can add dirt on top and the stems root out, but I don’t know if you can do that for carrots. If not, yeah, i’d try adding soil now rather than when they’re bigger.

So pretty! They do look like little flames! :)

Whew. Good to know.

I’m trying to encourage more clover in the yard. I know dandys are good (it’s actually our town flower), but I don’t love the look of them. I’d love to have a whole lawn of clover though.

Ooo, but dahlias are so pretty! Maybe start with something hardy and hard to kill? How do you do with houseplants?

Ooo, I might have to get that for the yard. I usually use a hori hori for dandelions in the yard, but it’d be nice to go larger scale. I’m trying to rid the whole yard of dandys this year. A girl can dream...

No pun intended, but rock gardens rock! I’m sure yours will be gneiss. ;)

Hori hori is my favorite tool. I love those things.

Yeah, I’m not in the Denver/Boulder area, but in the mountains, we were getting snow, some hail, and rain all this week. Front range is getting snowed on today, though.

I was telling a johnny jump up that I saw growing in the yard behind a tree “Well, aren’t you a pretty little one!” and then I walked around the corner to see my weird neighbor giving me a weird look. I just said “Hi!” and walked away. The weird neighbor didn’t say hi back. That’s why he’s the weird neighbor.

I also love lilacs! The smell *swoon*

Oh wow! That sounds awesome. I’m jealous of your advanced zone... I’m in CO (worked down the street from Coors for a while) and currently live in the high mountains, so while we’re technically in a valley, we’re not over the frost or snow hump quite yet. Your kind of gardening is definitely different!

Ooo, nice! Yeah, we’re not ready for everything in the ground yet, but I’m getting ready!!!

Yeah, it does that...

Totally plant them in the ground! They’ll come up next year. I do like salvias; they’re so hardy and lend some nice color to a garden. :) And delphiniums are lovely. They seem so...elegant to me.

Seems like that could get frustrating, like what happened with this guy.
