Thanks! I really don’t like that the way she’s doing the schedule makes the rest of the staff feel like they have to compete with each other. Retail this time of year is rough! We should have each other’s backs!

That’s the weird thing looking back at my earliest jobs, at the time I thought the managers were important assholes who purposefully fucked over people. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized they were just small minded little idiots who got promoted by chance and only really made maybe a dollar more an hour than I did.
They’re either lazy cash grab garbage or they hit you in the memories at the worst possible time, and people call you a Scrooge if you’re not into them. All-Christmas music stations are The Worst.
My boss is the leader of a mean girls clique, so I know how you feel about favorites. It’s bullshit.
My mom is a borderline hoarder. She doesn’t add much to her possessions but she can’t get rid of ANYTHING. Her house is filthy too. Part of the problem is my mom could maybe, barely, manage to keep things decent if we got it cleaned up by my older sister lives there and she contributes zero to the caring of her own…
I’m so ready for this holiday season to be over! Bring on 2018 and whatever merchandising opportunity comes next!
I hate that kind of favoritism. It is so bullshit and dispiriting. A long time ago I use to work at a movie theater. That was a place rife with favoritism (which is what I think happens when almost all your managers are super young). Once as a supervisor I asked for Christmas off because my dad was flying in from…
THE KYOOT! THE KYOOT IS FATAL.
One good thing though, I finished making all my cookies! I made gingerbread and sugar cookies with orange zest, and they taste like fruit loops! I just have to not eat them all.
So, my SIL/BIL are super sloppy hoarders with 5 kids. I do what I can, especially for the kids. It’s very difficult to help out because it all gets undone almost immediately. A couple of years back I spent weeks helping them dig out and since have regularly contributed weekend kitchen cleanings.
Work has got me so stressed out. I work in retail, it’s full on Christmas madness and my schedule for next week has a lot of 10 and 11 hour shifts on it. I asked for Boxing day off last month so I could go home and spend Christmas with my family, but my boss wrote CANNOT BE GUARANTEED on the time request sheet. As…
Gifts for my friend’s son arrived safely this week, so she’ll have time to wrap them. She’s grateful, and so am I - the Spirit hasn’t gotten into me as much this year, and shopping for a youngster was more therapeutic than visits from three ghosts...
We REALLY need mods again, if only to clean up threads that have became spamming.
Whoa! I thought SNS wouldn’t happen tonight! I do not know what I would do without my ol’ SNS.
I hope the fact that she attacks people on totally unrelated articles with burners makes certain commenters stop seeing her as the victim.
Thanks for letting us know.
Good news. I got accepted by Brown University! And fellow POC who I did a summer program with have recently gotten into Stanford, Georgetown and Cornell! So happy to be a lot more stress free and to see all this black excellence.
I had wondered if she had anything to do with the new trolling techniques seen this last week, and I guess the answer is yes.
