Right. I think the question is more, why didn't they sign the waiver?
I’m no expert in this area so should keep my mouth shut but I think a lot of long standing Chinese principles and cultural aspects that Mao tried to eradicate have come back in a huge way. Big and small.
If I remember Confuscious correctly, an abusive parent such as you describe has failed in their duty to their children and then has no right to expect the children to fulfill their duty to the parent. Each tier of Confuscious heirarchy is a tw0-way street where one expects fielty for having given it.
“and Kendall and Kylie’s “creative director” negotiate a deal where a cover with Khloe, Kendall and Kylie will be sent to subscribers only.”
Don’t people have to sign waivers for their image to appear on reality programming? And even if they don’t have to legally, maybe it’s a standards and practices thing for production. If I were branding myself as a legitimate fashion entity I think I’d be above letting E! and Kris Jenner suck me into their orbit.
My mom enabled my step dad’s abuse of my brother and I, so I too issue a hearty “eff this noise” with you.
Because they didn’t sign the waiver.
This answer is the best answer because it’s the only one that side-steps making comments about other cultures and instead makes fun of lawyers.
This fails to specify that the exam is testing whether they know Confucian morality, and this is a big tenet of that. I’m no cultural relativist, but this is literally white people mocking an ancient moral code they clearly know nothing about.
What if one owes you money and has cash in hand?
I’m pretty sure they just dressed up Confucian ideals in different clothes.
Wow, this question is fucking ludicrous. I’ve been to law school and practiced for several years and I know for a fact no lawyer would bother saving anyone else in a fire. Might as well be testing on legal customs of middle earth.
As the daughter of an abusive father and the mentor of a girl whose mother coerced her into child labor once: Amen!
UGH MOM STOP STACKING ALL THE CHAIRS ON THE TABLE AND BLEEDING ON THE WALLS. I’LL DO MY LAUNDRY WHEN I WAAAAANT.
I hate the concept of filial duty as an universal truth, because it assumes that all parents love their kids and at least try to do what’s best for them, so there is no possible circumstance where you’d ever be justified in not loving them.
I really think you have to factor in how likely your mother is to nag you as a ghost.
Nope, Filial piety always comes first.
