AV Club covering Screaming Females? Fuck yeah! One of the best bands out there right now.

Pretty sure the NBA champion Golden State Warriors never got an invite to the Trump White House, right? Which surely is because he knows none of the players and probably none of the coaches would accept.
On Around the Horn yesterday Toni Reali and the panel generally expressed their support for Jemele Hill, which I thought was cool, though I think only Sarah Spain unambiguously said that she agreed with her comments & that they were necessary. I was a little surprised the network let them do that, actually, since ESPN…
Doesn’t Trump object to exercise on the grounds that that the human body only has so much energy to spend over its lifetime? I’d imagine he finds ESPN pretty horrifying viewing at the best of times.
“People are dumping it in RECORD numbers!” This simple lie is so tangled in his stupidity and inability to deal with facts it should be taught to all future generations.
Kid Rick will win because every single news article will treat him with kid gloves and will be about how wonderful it is that he can do very baseline political stuff without fucking up. “Kid Rock held a campaign rally and sounded very senatorial, speaking in full sentences and barely mispronouncing a single word.”…
It’s funny that “top donors” of the GOP are actively courting him. Like they are so desperate for candidates they’re like “Kid Rock, well shucks he’s an American badass I hear!”
If Kid Rock runs for senate and wins we’re doomed.
It’s obvious Kid Rock isn’t taking this seriously. He has fans but no one is a die hard Kid Rock fan. Kid Rock hasn’t put in the work. If you want to be a musician turned politician you need to have a hardcore fanbase. One that would put a hatchet in some dude’s face if you need it. You need a hardcore fanbase…
They’re really going for it; establishment Republicans are actually, dutifully lining up to kiss the ring of Kid friggin’ Rock. As if he’s legitimately an American hero for being rich and obnoxious.
Republicans are morons.
Certainly, it’s not ideal that our country may begin to just straight-up start electing unqualified (and in this case abhorrent) entertainers to high office.
He’s not failing at starting a Senate bit, he’s succeeding at a publicity stunt to give him press his music hasn’t gotten in years and hasn’t deserved in ever. It only worked because the media and politics both appear to have a serious, possibly fatal, case of the stupids.
The AV Club has always been respectful, but dismissive of the Foo Fighters. Not “the Foo Fighters area huge joke” and more “they’re fine, I guess, if you are in to that sort of thing (which we are not).”
Ah, yes. Crazy how we blindly label the people waving around Swastikas and saying “Jews will not replace us” and saying they’re Nazis as Nazis. We really need more evidence.
Wasting Light was the best album this band has recorded in the last 20 years (maybe even the best of their career), and while Sonic Highways wasn’t fantastic, I think it deserves a tiny bit more credit than most fans give to it. Based on the singles from this album, I honestly don’t know what to expect... “The Sky Is…
I thought ESPN’s problems were from a changing marketplace, cord cutting (losing 20+ million subscribers), onerous NBA and NFL contracts with diminished advertising revenues from lower ratings, the internet replacing the flagship SportsCenter, and one of the highest fees to cable subscribers. But I am totally wrong,…
Its very important to have a keyboard player who does nothing on 90% of the songs live. That’s how you know you’ve made it big when you can pay for that luxury. I just saw Green Day and they played as a 6 piece too. Same deal there.
Wasting Light was half a really good album (like several of Foo Fighters albums). Sonic Highways was solid all the way through but only like one classic song.
Excited to listen to the new one. Sky is a Neighborhood is such a cool song and a bit of a departure for them.
Disagree on the hooks in Wasting Light, but this is definitely a stronger effort than Sonic Highways so far (which had its high points too, I thought).
