I think the opening sequence to The Stand where the camera tracks through Project Blue straight after it took the full brunt of the escaping Superflu all while being scored to Blue Oyster Cult’s Don’t Fear the Reaper is outstanding and they really should copy that bit as much as possible for any remake IMO.
