The Lotus is a great choice because of its telegraphic handling and toss-ability. The same can’t be said for the GT-R, which is great on the street but less so, in my opinion, at the track. It’s the “anti-Lotus”, not because of the electronics but because of the numb handling.

Nope. In the olden days (or even today), most people are taught to get all the braking done before you start turning.

It does depend on the car, corner, surface, tires, etc. Sometimes you need to get all your braking done in a straight line before initiating the turn, then use throttle / steering inputs only through apex / exit.
