Took like a day, someone found it already. It’s been out there for years.

Just went and read the reddit where the guy did it. I’m pasting it here just because it’s fucking impressive.
How did people do that so quickly? The internet is amazing.
The ONLY outages I have had since working from home for months, was like 2 or 3 times when one of my routers/AP decided it didn’t want to play nicely with a particular device anymore. The Fios itself NEVER goes down. Ever. I don’t think we’ve had an outage since we got it, which I think was like 18 months ago or…
Fair. I’m an EE, not a structural or something. At first glance I thought it was nicely fabricated aluminum, but apparently I’m probably wrong.
Yeah, I’m an electrical engineer, metal just shows up and we use it, never had to spec it. I also thought it was aluminum at a first glance, and relatively nicely machined and finished, but that’s because I’m not a metal person. Thanks for the insight.
On my Speed3, yes. Blizzak I think right now, used to be Conti. Originally got them because I had summer only tires on. Now I run all seasons but the snows are still so much better.
Fios FTMFW.
The costs here are quite high. You needed the funds to get the thing made in the first place, completely wild guess that would have to cost at least $10k, that’s a lot of metal, and it’s nicely finished and machined.
I doubt the artist necessarily lives in the state. But I agree that this was someone with serious funding.
Good luck getting there. It sounds like it’s extraordinarily remote and treacherous to get to, not to mention we have basically no idea where it is, even if you could reach it, you have to find it first.
This looks remarkably like the Fire TV remote in style and substance, but it’s definitely different. Very similar style though.
Yeah, getting a yield of 1.5 kiloton TNT from only about double that weight, is not a bad yield for something that wasn't trying to be a bomb.
In what universe are there legal ways to pay an executive who is drawing a salary consulting fees on top? Isn't that what the salary is for? Pay a bonus, there's tons of legitimate ways to give more money, but consulting for the company you also work for seems like it should just be straight illegal.
I liked that too.
We switched this year finally. Excited to put it up immediately following Thanksgiving dinner (sort of kidding...)
That launch looks absolutely terrifying. It would be even faster with some suspension work. It’s bouncing for the first 60 feet, has to be killing the 60 foot times.
Holy shit. That was a fucking ride from start to finish.
What a strange fucking world we find ourselves in. It was sort of a slow train wreck that we saw coming, but it’s still incredible if you think about where we are, and frame it in the before times, like 2012. Can you fucking imagine Obama doing this?
