They were nice trucks. Not built the best, and way underpowered, but, the 2WD sat pretty high up above the ground, and the 05 was beautiful. We had an 02 XL that my dad got as a company truck, it was a lease and so we got it like 2 months before it went on sale.

Same deal with the Colorado. After incentives and rebates, a similarly spec’d Silverado ends up being a $2-3k premium, so people just go for the Silverado.

I got a chance to ride on a 2016 Mexico spec Ranger XL. My first complaint is that the rear seats don’t have a handle to get up, which is a pain because even the 2WD truck sits pretty high (unlike the 2WD versions of the Tacoma, D23, and single cab Hilux).

Don’t quote me on this, but I think there is a state or federal law that mandates buses to be no more than 10 years old. So even if the 7.3 will run forever, those buses will only serve in the US for 10 years or so, then maybe become church buses, DIY camper buses, or they will go down to Guatemala and become public…

It’s not a big deal when you’re making thousands of parts, or selling a product that is part of a $50,000,000 assembly.

Make new tooling sounds like a great idea, until you realize the amount of man-hours that it takes to do that, the cost of designing/building the dies, plus the cost of stamping a set number.

His bill is less than that, somewhere around 30k. The other neighbors have spent a combined 50k in legal fees though.

I’d definitely keep the TDI badges as mementos. Probably an engine cover as well.

The Yaris R (as it’s called in Mexico), also called the Scion something in the US (which will now be sold as Toyota) which is a Mazda 2 sedan, is built at Mazda’s new plant in or around Celaya, Mexico. No clue about the other Yarises (Yarii?).

Not even an option in Mexico. Not sure if they were an option in the first place, I’m guessing not, since our 96 Neon didn’t come with them (they were reserved for the luxury model).

Statistically, probably the likeliest way to go, at least in some cities.

You’d fail as a Mexican cabbie then. You’d need to chain smoke cigarettes, drink Coca-cola, and fit in that Tsuru while being overweight to the point where the front seat has left no legroom in the back for anything bigger than a Nalgene bottle.

Not a lot of imported stuff, so that helps with the fluctuation of the USD, in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if the car actually went down in price when put in USD.
