Unless you do a damn good job at strapping it, probably a bad idea. Look at the C-130 that was brought down by an NVG case.

Now that you mention it, DNR / Conservation Officers/ Game Wardens most of the time have fleets that are 100% pickup trucks. The same goes for BLM Rangers; USFS Law Enforcement and Park Rangers seem to be more 50/50 Tahoes/Pickups.

The funny thing is that the Army and Navy have been using pickups for patrol for the longest time, and they’re sure getting their money’s worth out of them. The Army seems to be predominantly Chevy though. The Navy seems to be a 50/50 split (plus they also use whatever Denalis they impound) and the Federal Police

IIRC, Mexican made Sedans (the Mexican Beetle) also had the gear pattern on the dash. That continued up until the 2004 final edition.

Have you ever called for a wrecker? It took me 45 minutes to get one, inside city limits, at 1pm. I don’t wanna know how long it takes to get one at night.

No. They’d probably be alligator poop.

As far as I know, no small vehicles in the US are required to have side marker lights and retroreflectors, other than those mounted inside the light housings.

Chevy will sell you the civilian SSV equivalent (1FL packagE) (4WD, regular ride) but you gotta go through a fleet dealer. No new PPVs for civilians.

I’ve only seen one. A black slicktop owned by the Yucatan (Mexico) State Police, Internal Affairs division. I spotted the thing when it was half a mile behind, and it passed me and I was like damn I was right (and I have out of state plates too), then read it was IA.

Manufacturer/special plates. That’s how a Asian automaker may or may not have imported a 2014/15 global Colorado/S-10, a VW Amarok and a Toyota Hilux and plated them in the US. Alternatively, with proper insurance, anything plated in Mexico can be driven in the US.

They’re sold in Mexico, and fairly popular.

Here’s my *almost* story.

Why buy a $47000 brand new Chevy Tahoe, when you can buy a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage with an unlimited factory bumper to bumper certified preowned warranty?

I feel like they could have named it the Patrol Armada or something like that. Then drop the Armada 5 years down the road.

I think they did it at first and then dropped the Pathfinder from the name.

Because the original Armada was its own thing and not the Y60/Y61 Patrol.

God Bless the Russian Mafia

The extra 1400 lbs that the V8 Trailblazer could tow.

Supposedly there is one GMT800 (99-06) 2 door Tahoe roaming around the streets, which may or may not have illicitly escaped a GM facility. Some sources say anywhere between 6 and 10 prototypes were made and destroyed when they cancelled the 2 door one.

Unless you want custom plates, then you get two.
