I was already to vote for Jaws, because I think that Raiders probably had a lot of influence from George Lucas, but given that Spielberg is the director, I would vote for that. It's a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

You have encapsulated my feelings about Dr. Who pretty much exactly. Although I somehow saw fragments of some Jon Pertwee shows that I later identified as "The Claws of Axos" and "The Daemons" I was really introduced to the Doctor through Tom Baker on PBS. I watched every episode through at least twice. I also got

That's nice for paleontology and geology, but what about archaeology? Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon, Poverty Point, Cahokia. There is a lot of cool stuff to see.

I used to have a cassette tape of the soundtrack to Big Trouble in Little China. It was awesome, as is this video. I wonder if I have that tape still.

No love for the blue-footed booby?

Anthony Horowitz is doing Tintin? Suddenly, I am much more interested. He is the main writer/creator of Foyle's War. I know it isn't a sci-fi show, but it is amazing! Extremely high-quality detective show set in WWII England.

Yeah. I think that Signs somehow got on the wrong list. Maybe it is some sort of really bad misspelling?

Skip it. It was horrible.

All vampire art makes me think that vampires are slobs. All of them have blood dripping out of their mouths or smeared all over their bodies, and all I can think is "Do they not know what napkins are?"

I'm pretty sure that the Titans didn't make their tower on their own. As I recall it was built by Cyborg's dad as a kind of a "Sorry you got crushed by an inter-dimensional monster and had to be rebuilt with shiny bits" present.

I'm sorry, but if this list doesn't have any Queen songs from Flash Gordon, I have to consider it sadly incomplete and I am unable to participate.

Hmm. Between this and this week's Burn Notice I might have to start crushing on Charisma Carpenter again.

Seriously. If anyone is doing modern mythology it's the Doctor.

Considering she got most of the others, including ones based on Japanese properties that I don't know, I concede the point.

That is really a very good Kroenen. Someone put a lot of time into that.

Yeah. I am pretty sure that that is Dr. Orpheus. Truly an egregious mistake there.

It's so hard to say. In my estimation all computers are demonic assholes, and frankly that can be any gender.

Seeing this reminds me of just how awesome the Jonny Quest theme song is. If the actual series had been as good as the opening it would have been the most awesome cartoon of all time.

I have read a little-known memoir that would full of fantastic adventures that I am pretty sure were primarily true. "Call to Adventure" by Aloha Baker. She was 16-year old in Paris when she hooked up with a Polish "captain" and drove around the world. Later the Captain was murdered under mysterious circumstances

That's actually a hagfish. Not that it isn't amazing, creepy and kind of awesome.
