The Wire had consistently better writing. The Sopranos had a LOT of bad episodes. I can't remember even one bad episode of The Wire, second season included.

I recommend The Wire constantly to people who are looking for something good, and I ALWAYS warn them to stick with it, because once you're into it it's like curling up with a really great book. But seeing this trailer makes me remember how much I loved Six Feet Under: its whimsy, its graveyard humor, its sweetness.

I loved loved loved this show, in spite of the fact that it did get a little tedious. By god, there are families just like that. I remember reading that the famous critic Tom Shales said, upon his first few viewings of Roseanne, that "Married with Children did it first and funnier". He was right. Well, for a few

Nah, just pay the girl with a ten and a single - get a five dollar bill in change. Easy peazy.

I'm a prim and proper 63 year old lady and I was almost pooping in my pants, it scared me so badly! I just watched it and can't to see the last few episodes.

I am a latecomer, as well, though I had seen the entire series a couple of years ago. It wasn't until last year that I discovered AV Club, and a few months ago we decided to re-watch the entire thing again because we loved it so much, and I thought "AV Club MUST have a review of this marvelous series!" And like you, I

Billy and Claire had more creative names early on in the series. He was Batty Billy and she was IC Dead People, or something close to that.

I'm a woman of a certain age and yes, it was perfect. I can't believe that Billy and Brenda would roll their eyes like that.

I've just started watching this. I didn't read through the comments, but if it hasn't surfaced yet, the song Frank was humming was Shenandoah.
I will watch the two remaining episodes but only out of sense of not wasting the disk from Netflix. I won't be ordering season 2. The death of Peter Russo was the final straw.

I hope you read this! I had NEVER seen a single episode of TNG all the way through. I vaguely remembered seeing Patrick Stewart in one show where he was a private eye in the 40s or something like that, but that was it. Anyway, my husband and I just finished watching the full first season, and were debating whether we

I am watching the entire series for the third or fourth time, realizing as I watch it how much I hated Anna Gunn (and NOT Skyler White) for continually changing her appearance. Why do women insist on changing their face, giving themselves those fat lips that are anything but attractive? And the weight gains and losses
