We’ve been introduced to Peldon—and her profession—through an article over at The Guardian that details her career.

Except that’s not queer-specific. That happens to straight characters all the time, it’s a classic bait-and-switch shock tragedy in storytelling. By harping on this I feel like we’re asking for queer characters to be treated differently than straight characters. Which is fine I guess - treating them more sensitively

I wonder how many Hollywood Squares contestants have won Darwin Awards?

Garrett Dillahunt is one of my favorite actors. The first thing I saw him in was The 4400. Also excellent as a nice guy doctor in David Milch’s beyond weird John from Cincinnati. To me he & Summer Glau in Sarah Connor Chronicles give the two best ever performances as terminators.

It’s ok, Deadwood pretty much ruined every other western for me too. Mostly because when I see them I wonder why everything is so clean and why the streets aren’t covered in mud and horseshit.

Not sure I’ll rush out to see the Bay movie but always enjoy Dillahunt’s performances. Raising Hope was always especially fun. I liked his stint on Justified as well. I had forgotten he was on the Gifted as it felt like surely he must have done something marvel related by now. Also he was on an episode of Alphas, a

There are really few things more pathetic than Change.org petitions whinging about show finales.

I can’t get over the fact that the solution to this is “record all recording sessions,” as though the entire creative process occurs in a closed room and therefore no external influences can seep in.

I... I don’t think that anyone with any sense has said that for many, many years. Dolly has always been chill, and ever since the first time I saw her interviewed on 60 Minutes it was clear that she was shrewd, sharp, kind, generous, and just a genuine person. Can’t say I’m a fan of country music at all, but I am a

Yeah, I’ll keep recycling, composting, only using the car when I need to, etc. but I know people who still don’t, big corporations don’t care, and governments still treat this like a debate. Then to top it all off, I just saw yet another news story saying it’s critical we do something right now. ... And no changes

I never watched Inside Amy Schumer, but Trainwreck is decent, especially due to the comedy stylings of John Cena.

“Mark Wahlberg? I look like Mark Wahlberg ate Mark Wahlberg!”

If you’ve seen Purple Rain, I think “washed with red shit” actually describes bathing in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Because that’s what people tune in to see. Hot human on zombie sex scenes.

I like how, of all the subject/object disagreements, incorrect conjugations, and inappropriate apostrophes, the thing that finally broke the Volunteer Proofreader was treating a number as a listed adjective.

I wish somebody from AVClub would review Fear The Walking Dead when it starts in a couple weeks.

Definitely recommend the HBO doc. What she did was foul...and yet somehow not malicious? And certainly not a crime under the statute she was charged/convicted. Very difficult case to understand.

through their point-of-view —> through their point of view

I always assumed he was an emotional abuser who used suicide threats as a assault/gaslighting tactic. It’s a thing.

If one watches the HBO doc, it’s clear this story is way more complex than most people think it is.  Conrad Roy was not some innocent stooge who did whatever she told him to do. It was actually quite the opposite. And he had suicidal tendencies for years before meeting Michelle. His parents just didn’t want to admit

I have tried to watch Euphoria once or twice but it’s so dark and harrowing I had to stop after a while; stretching this awful story out for 8 hours seems like self-torture.
