Ugh, stuff like this just makes me terrified to bring children into this post-apocolyptic world.

I have such a special place in my heart for Parks and Rec - watching past seasons on Netflix are like my comfort food. We went through a tough transition about a year ago, and whenever I wanted a mini escape from whatever was going on I would snuggle up in bed and watch a couple episodes. I still tear up every time I…
Dryel. Game-changer. Comes to less than $2 for 4 items, 30 minutes in the dryer.
I'll provide my perspective: our large wedding was mostly a result of a strong network of family and close, long-term family friendships. Both sets of parents, who are still together, were very supportive of our decision to get married, and wanted to throw a big party to both celebrate our union and bring together…
Can you imagine if the resources (time, effort, probably at least a little bit of money) spent on this ridiculousness was put to use elsewhere? Education, research, fundraising, food banks; these people would actually be contributing to society and as a bonus I wouldn't feel the overwhelming urge to replace their…
Dayam, some girls get comped ALL booze AND a table?! No wonder they want instagram photos!
She kind of looks like Tammy 1.
Men don't have to pay a cover - or just men who get a table? Also, it's my understanding that a comp means you get a table without having a minimum bottle obligation, right? I've attended many a bachelorette party in Vegas (thank god my 20s are over) and we usually had some sort of arrangement where we had a…
Also, Vegas has a different definition of "attractive" than I do. Like, my friends and I are reasonably attractive (I think!), but we don't have Boobs or Tans or hair extensions so we don't "count" if we come as our regular selves. One time waaaaaay back when Rain was a thing and we were in college, we tried to skip…
I mean, just reading those headlines she seems right to me - specifically the loss of the "village" and parents putting kids needs in front of their own. I also cannot imagine my mom switching sippy cup colors according to our whims as babies, and my siblings and I turned out just fine.
this response was much more entertaining than the Brazil - chile match, thanks!
oh yeah, most of the skins float away in the jar, andI just easily remove the skins of the remaining. This is a surprisingly long thread on almonds, but reminded me how much I like them :)
I've been waxing my pits for the past ~5 years, and the hairs are so thin and grow so slow at this point that I only wax them like every other month. They get about an inch-long and hippie-like towards the end, it's seriously not that big of a deal - no one's ever remarked on my pithair (even my mom!), and my husband…
So my hairs don't get wedged in between my jeans/tights and prick me all day.
You're probably right - I meant to not try with roasted & salted, as my husband did one time. Those turned out gross. Actual fresh almonds off the tree are "milky", sort of like how these turn out - I believe my grandparents used this trick to re-hydrate dry almonds in the Old Country so they would taste more like the…
I don't think there are official guidelines on how to eat almonds. My family eats them the way my grandma showed us, we really like them "wet" straight out of the jar after a pat down with a paper towel - kind of like almond milk in solid form.
I eat them straight out of the jar, just dried on a paper towel so they're not wet wet but not really dry. My family really likes them, but to each their own I guess!
I'm in CA, I get mine from trader joe's, they turn out great :) They say "raw" on the package, I guess that's good enough?
Just FYI, it doesn't sound like you prepared the almonds soaked in water correctly. I make these all the time, they are delicious - the almonds get "milky" and are super satisfying. You need to get raw, unprocessed almonds, fill up a jar 1/3 with almonds, 2/3 with cold water, place in fridge overnight, change the…
There's never a good time to have kids. I can come up with a whole list of reasons why having children in your 20s is a bad idea, and it's better to wait until you have money, career, patience, a tried and tested relationship, wild oats sown, etc. My own mother had me at 26, she says absolutely she would have waited…
