I think this stereotype is incredibly common. I mean, I know that not everyone who has an ED is scarily skinny because I’ve had friends who were also a “healthy” weight or even overweight while they struggled with bulimia, and I still caught myself thinking it.

Which is exactly what I find so weird/worrying. She said she lost a lot of weight for it, apparently under supervision from a doctor and in a “healthy” way but having to lose weight for a movie about an ED sounds like an excuse for relapsing tbh. But she seems to be doing fine, which, good for her and I hope it stays

Same and I cry everytime I see it (same for my mom but she cries if she sees a cute puppy, which, same).

Don’t watch it, please. At least not now. I think it would really fuck with your head and make things even worse for you and I really, really don’t want that to happen. I’m so sorry you are going through this.

The extreme self-importance and the off-putting smug look on her face. You can barely even see the babies.

Agreed, the movies almost always focus on severely underweight teenagers/college age kids. One thing I really liked about the movie was that the patients ranged from bulemic fat girl to young guy and a woman in her late 30/early 40s (actress is early 40s).

yes, i’m very racist and sexist and it’s not at all because these photos are beyond ridiculous (beyoncé ridiculous?)

This! I have to be honest here and say that, while watching the movie, I saw the big girl in the treatment centre and my first thought was, “Wait she doesn’t have an ED lol!” This is of course bullshit and I was being an asshole.

I watched it this morning and was surprised that it starts with her getting kicked out of a facility and after multiple hospital/treatment center stays. I expected it to start with her at the beginning of her illness. I thought the movie was fine (sometimes boring) but still triggering, even for someone who’s never

Get over yourself, “kiddo.”

I agree that many, many baby photoshoots are tacky as hell and all, but you can’t even really see the babies here!

Why am I “obsessed” with her for commenting on a blog post where this was the main story lol?

Keep the condescension, “honey.” I am merely expressing an opinion about a photo that was posted on social media for the world to see, thank you.

I’m happy for them and wish them the best but maybe tone it down a little (a lot)?

The photos are awful (except for the flowers, gorgeous). You can barely see the babies, she’s the center of attention (as always), the look on her face says SUCK IT HATERS, and she’s appropriating Mexican culture.

Never said she’s a bad person, just that she’s SO full of herself. Also, she’s appropriating Mexican culture (from what I’ve been told, didn’t know that).

No one is shitting on her happiness. We are shitting on her Vogue-style photoshoot. You can be happy without staging a professional photoshoot and pretending like your children are the second coming of Christ.

She’s clearly a pop culture icon and all (I’m not really into her music) but she’s sooooooo full of herself. Everything has to be performative.

So sorry to hear that, Stig.
