Using engine braking to "more effectively slow down without breaking traction" is BS. Why not hit your brakes to use ABS which will definitely not lock up the tires? You're limited by how much GRIP the tires have regardless of how you slow them down, and engine braking is in no way "more effective" than ABS.
AWD is not better in the snow. It does not help you stop better or handle better. It only helps you accelerate better. Snow tires help you stop, handle, and accelerate better. Ideally both are best, but snow tires are much cheaper and can be changed in less than an hour for free.
Cayman with a little love is an actual 911 killer. It says alot about Porsche as a company that they chose to intentionally keep the Cayman slower because it's such a better chassis than a 911.
