The point of the new propulsion, catapults and arresting systems is that they are supposed to improve reliability and maintenance while reducing crew size. Anything with steam has a ton of pipes and pipes leak, rot and have all kinds of issues.

The key to understanding Atkinson is the expansion ratio. Getting as close to atmospheric at the end of the power stroke. Low power density and not very exciting exhaust sounds unfortunately. Great for a Prius or hybrid.

Take down this article. Seriously. Washer fluid has methanol at varying levels which is 99% as bad for you as gasoline. You can go blind if you don’t actually have organ failure, and even breathing the vapors is bad for you.

The fixes for the Corvette are (in order).
1) Stop selling and servicing it via Chevy dealerships. Honda and Toyota have Acura and Lexus for a reason, different customers with different expectations/requirements.
2) Stop putting cheap interiors in cars that cost $60-$100k.
3) Focus more resources on the car’s

Call it emissions guilt and trying to rebuild their image. And 25% and 1mil cars is ambitious. They’ll need their own gigafactory for one thing and I’m not sure how much lithium at what price is even available if everyone wants to make all cars electric.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

I didn’t realize that Northrop had apparently won the LRS-B contract likely because of earlier success with the RQ-80 which is about to enter full production. Also, the RQ-180 and LRS-B are classic stealth B2-like airframes which can obviate the need for other programs like the Global Hawk and possibly others.

Interesting article and I tend to agree with Tyler- this seems like either a solution in search of a problem or a small possibility this program itself or a somewhat related program is already nearly completed. Either way it seems like the money could be far better spent on a whole lot of other things. I’ll take 100

With the bottoming of oil prices recently taking a 25% bite out of their GDP, these military projects are probably going to take a back seat. They will probably get completed, but in 3-4x the timeframe Russia is claiming.

I don’t think anyone that took the office of the President of the USA was ready for the job. It’s impossible. There’s nothing that can likely prepare you for it because it has so many facets to it.

The word Takahiro is looking for is called “Leadership”.

Yup and that’s the point re the budget $. Congress can change that law if they choose to and they should.

Seoul, the metro area of which contains about 1/2 the population of Korea, would be hit by something like 3-5,000 artillery and rocket shells per minute from the North, if memory serves. Even though that did not level the 14th largest city in the world from the explosives alone, the ensuing fires probably would

Vote Trump and find out. If he’s really anti-establishment he’d probably be open to keeping the A-10 around.

There’s definitely a lot that can be done to improve IT security if politicians and managers had backbones and some stuff is happening for the better but right now, most hacks are automated. They mostly use known vulnerabilities and get into unpatched systems a variety of ways. So they’re not a real serious threat if

Part of my job is security related and I think people tend to blow it out of proportion a bit as people like to scare themselves with things they know little about.

Nuclear weapons changed everything. No country has ever directly attacked a nuclear-power with a large scale army because of the obvious consequences.

Meh. We piss them off they piss us off. It does seem pretty unprofessional but if it happened on the same day as the small boat seizure of the Marines, I’d be interested I knowing if they are related.
