I agree that Kvyat’s penalty in Canada isn’t quite the yardstick, and that the stewards are sometimes horribly and annoyingly inconsistent with how they dish them out, but he fucking hit him intentionally. That’s a no-no.

Wow we can preorder? You couldn’t even preorder the Nes Mini.

An intelligent person doesn’t need telemetry to tell them shit here. It was readily apparent immediately that Hamilton was just spacing for the safety car. The telemetry just confirms what should have already been the obvious, logical conclusion.

My thing is, why did he even deliberately bang wheels with HAM and only get a 10 sec penalty, while just one race ago Kvyat got a 10 sec AND a drive through for “failing to regain position before safety car line 1 on the formation lap,” a frivolous charge at best?

Maybe not intentional, but it was still inherently dangerous driving. This is F1, drivers aren’t supposed to make mistakes like this.

I’d buy that of it were a kid in a rented go kart, but this is a professional, multi-million dollar earning, driver. Even if it were unintentional, as you mentioned, taking his hand off the wheel to gesticulate was foolish..

Its absolutely the norm in any racing to “check up the field” right before a restart. Both to let the safety car clear, and to get an advantage of the accordion affect on your start. As the leader, you set the pace, and if that’s 5mph then that’s what the field has to go. The anti-Hamilton bias around here is crazy.

Nah, he knew what he was doing. He may have misjudged the impact a bit, but he definitely intended to make contact.

I agree but 5 minutes on the motorsport.com article covering it sadly reveals that telemetry truthers are apparently a thing.

Either way, there had to be some sort of bigotry/racism involved.

Telemetry showed Hamilton did’t brake check Vettel.

Reminds of how certain people reacted when president #44 took office.

“Due to the unforeseen popularity of the NES Classic, we at Nintendo have decided to increase production to 10 whole systems, the first three of which are now available for preorder”

Why? Hamilton was totally in the clear, the entire incident was Vettel’s fault.

100%. He may not have intended on hitting him, but he definitely wanted to get close, or just do a little tire rub.

Sorry might be a decent excuse if you’re a new driver but 4 times world champion can’t drive 1 handed at 30mph without crashing. It was a full on veer across the track. Maybe he didn’t actually mean to hit but the intention to aggressively swerve was definitely there.

Hah! Do you think that Vettel i sreally that careless with his car? But even if we accept this ridiculous conjecture he should not have been alongside Hamilton in the first place, and anything that happens when he is must be taken as entirely his fault, the same as if it was intentional. But seriously, given

I love how people turn into trashy cavemen when someone doesn’t conform to their personal standard of conduct.

Lane splitting is legal in cali, go fuck yourself. You sound like someone who drives at exactly the speed limit in the left lane, and then accelerates every time someone tries to pass you on the right.
