So if Mercedes had ordered Hamilton to retire immediately at the start of the race because they wanted Nico to win, would he have been obligated to obey? And just as importantly, does that decision reflect more poorly on the driver or the team?

“Lewis was refusing their instructions, and he was going against the management team. Now, I am sorry, but when you are paid between 20 and 30 million pounds a year and you are told to do something you have got to do it. I don’t care who you are.”

meh.. i think hammy’s a bit of a twat.. but i cant really fault his behaviour during the race... short of putting nico of the track this was his only shot at the title.

No one’s ever said Lewis is an extrovert, actually. He’s always demonstrated that he’s very, very much in control of who comes into his inner circle and that makes me think he’s pretty introverted and protective of his space. I can respect that, knowing plenty of people who are the same way. He’s rather cleverly

I don’t think it’s a personal thing.

“sportsmanship” should be taught or told to Nico to begin with! Belgium? Spain? Austria? Ros was champion of dirty racing and putting his teammate or competitors off the track while not being racing line....

You’re such an idiot. During his announcement, he specifically and extensively talked about guilt he felt about the fact that his wife was the one that always got up when their baby daughter woke up in the middle of the night.

Driving slow in a race is dirty tricks?

Look, while Chris Harris is far better than the trio put together, the Vulcan looks so much better in red than it does in white.

You mean like the “good old days” when Senna purposely crashing out Prost in the first turn to take the championship?

Your definition of the whole world is pretty small. Some washed up retirees and petty keyboard warriors.

Ahhh I see the problem, you don’t know the difference between sportmanship and cheating.

I mean, fine, Clarkson certainly gave better engine details, but he’s been guilty of blithe descriptions as well, and I don’t really need a presenter to tell me the numbers anyway, Google can do that.

What are you in fucking kindergarten? “Sportsmanship” in professional high level sports equates to playing by the rules and being fair within those rules, that’s it. Everything Lewis did was to win a championship, fair and square, by the rules.

Maybe, but let’s see. He has a lot of money, he’s succeeded in his career goals, and he’s alive, young, and healthy . . . sounds like the perfect time to retire. His choice makes absolute sense. What doesn’t make sense is when people have plenty of money but keep working.

They’re F1 drivers. Specifically F1 drivers in genuine WDC contention every year. It would be weird if they weren’t insufferable to work with. Thing is it would be weird for someone as competitive as Nico to retire because his teammate was a pain in the ass, or even just because of any team politics in general.

No, nico’s unofficial nickname is Brittany. There’s a reason why…

Antics?! Well excuse him for trying to win a fucking championship.

Sorry, but, Chris Harris Vulcan review > Jeremy Clarkson Vulcan review

I applaud the biker for his restraint. I think that phone would have ended up further away from the car if it were me.
