Brazilian soldier here. So far the only order we received from command is to stay ready in case things go violent. We’re not to interfere with the strike unless in specific cases where access to essential services get cut off, and even then only through negotiation. My unit has been on the streets only once so far, on

Model kits and tabletop games are also a great source of cheap diorama options for 1/64 scale cars, look for 20-25 mm scale, since that’s gamers use for figures and buildings, they look right at home next to small scale cars

Wait, really? I agree on it being one of the best episodes so far, along with the criticisms being spot on, but if there’s one thing the episode doesn’t touch, that’s precisely toxic, territorial fan boyism. We never see Robert protecting his fandom from “ignorant outsiders, posers or attention whores”, or trying to

No idea how that works, but most flight sims and games are licensed much in the same ways racing games are. Someone mentioned Ace Combat in another thread, and it’s actually annoying just how much copyright text the games have for each individual plane

I was 9 or 10 the first time I drove all by myself. I remember it had rained the night before and all morning that day, and my dad took me and my siblings to check out if there was any damage to a ranch we owned back then. The whole place was grass, and slippery as hell, so he put me and my older sister to drive our

Torch, you can get these fairly easily in Brazil. Just google “Tampa Traseira Bizorrão” or “Capô Super Fuscão” and something should pop up in auction and auto parts stores... Not sure about shipping to the US though.

To be perfectly honest, the TIE fighter dimensions have been somewhat revised since the original movies came out, it's now much bigger all around that it used to be. I guess it still pushes suspension of disbelief a bit, but nevermind that because they came up with a fucking two seater variant that makes even less

It’s an oldish Chevrolet Celta, a subcompact hatchback designed and built by our local GM branch here in Brazil. Judging by the plate, this took place not only in my home country, but in my home state of Rio Grande do Sul to boot.

I guess, but even if the same faces were taking all the wins in the Road Courses, that’d still make for better racing than most of the ovals.

Yup, that much is true... also, billboards and ads along the sides of a road course aren’t as blatantly visible as they are in an oval, where they're on screen pretty much 100% of the time.

I know a few that do, Daytona and Talladega among them. Now here’s an idea, since they race twice on each, why not an oval and a road race instead of two ovals? I'd watch the shit out of all four races.

NASCAR should do way more road courses. They're pretty much the only races I follow aside from the most traditional ovals like Daytona, Talladega and Bristol. There are so many cookie cutter tracks that could be replaced with road racing or scrapped altogether...

Fantastic article Stef, glad to hear you’re getting better!

Easy, swap around the Ford Works and customer teams for the 1993 F1 season so McLaren would come out on top, giving Senna a fourth world title, hopefully keeping him in McLaren for another year, and maybe avoiding at least one death in Imola 1994.

I used to have the old one, set # 7191. Got it in 2000 or 2001 for christmas, though the one I really wanted was the regular model, # 7140. I love how they put so much emphasis on the new wing mechanism, because the original one, with two tiny joints per wing, was crap...

Haas hasn’t done well. They’ve done fantastic on their two races, and their car is easily the best looking on the grid to boot. No wonky vacum cleaner nose, no dildo dick nose, plus clean lines and a neat livery.

Still, that’s a far cry from identical robot cars. We get shots of the pits during the race, that’s a given, what isn’t is getting shots of the race during transmission of the pits.

That’s a point, surely, but no one’s going to watch the engineers and race experts stand around looking at computer monitors for 2 hours. This is akin to how people will discuss a feature or design element of a car, but not follow the whole building and tuning process on TV or live at the shops.

My parents have one of those. Well, the older, pre facelift version. It’s a pretty good SUV, body on frame, rwd, torquey engine, at least compared to what else’s available in Brazil. We weathered out the equivalent to a class 1 tornado in it once, only damage was a missing front plate. And no, it didn’t come with

We have that here in Southern Brazil. It's the only way I get to see the sun after work, so it's actually a good thing. Daylight savings time, or summer time as it's called here, is the best thing ever.
