AC: Valhalla doesn't hold a candle to Ghost of Tsushima. 

I’ve heard nothing but gushing about Ghost of Tsushima since it came out, so I’m pretty surprised to not see it get more recognition. I haven’t played it, so I have no opinion, but it just sounded like everyone loved it.

There’s a pretty strong bias against TLOU2 here on Kotaku. It’s sort of the inverse of Hades which gets an extraordinary amount of praise. I think I only saw TLOU2 mentioned on one of the individual lists and even then only as an honorable mention. It pretty clearly comes down to some of controversies like “crunch”…

Every single part of that game feels duct taped on, from the activities to the characters to the plot. Valhalla really rewards investment in its characters and world and Tsushima practically disdains it.

FF7 Remake very deftly took a five to seven hour section of the FF7 and turned it into a pretty great 25 hour game. The main problem was that 25 hour game also had about 15-20 hours of chaff on top of that.
