They’re about tied for me. This movie blew me away, honestly. I wasn’t expecting much I enjoyed it entirely. The HPLHS movie is a amazing piece of film making made extra impressive given the constraints of basically no budget. They made the expressionist silent film style work.
I am looking forward to this!
Favorite film adaptation of Lovecraft: I will go with the silent film version of The Call of Cthulhu by a slight margin over Stuart Gordon’s From Beyond
Dear Mrs. Clinton
There he is.
I’ll get shit for it, but I’d rather vote for the old white guy who has remained more-or-less consistent in his left-wing views over a pretend, feel-good shallow veneer of progress disguising the same neoliberal, center-right bullshit.
I just made it to Episode 4 of Death Stranding, which kind of blew my mind (not the first time with this game). I had just started to love the slow pacing of the game, and it’s odd atmospheric combination of desolation and pluckiness, so this new chapter is pretty jarring. The likes don’t lie, but beyond that I don’t think donut is particularly insulting. It is, however, food. So, too, are sour grapes, which you can continue eating because I don’t care.
Well then you’re also bad at jokes.
Meat pies are baked all together. You put the filling inside the still-raw dough, and bake it all up together. In a burrito, you’ve cooked your filling and you’ve made your tortilla. You’re just assembling them together. That’s why it doesn’t count. And yeah...it’s a wrap.
Why do you think that?
The review said we’d spent some time with him, which I don’t think was true. Just a Chekov’s Irishman scene at some point early in this season.
Couldn’t disagree more. Janice was one of the best things about this season. But I also never understood people's distaste for Cannavale.
In the moment Krista said it, it honestly felt like she was just jumping to a conclusion. It’s too cliche. Abuse is foreshadowed but not sexual abuse so it all feels so out of left field to go there.
So it’s only me that hated the reveal that his dad was sexually abusing him? Felt like a cliché.
