Hollow Knight is one of those games I don’t think I have a single complaint about. Besides the optional White Palace, I guess. But even that wasn’t terrible, personally.

This is certainly an opinion.
In terms of influence, Fortnite absolutely blows RDR2 out of the water, even if it was a very enjoyable movie. It’s up there with Minecraft in terms of popularity. If you want evidence of this, just visit any boardwalk or mall and see what t-shirts are out front.
Re: The White Palace, it is indeed a chore, and I cursed multiple times. However, if you get the badge from the Hive, you can “cheat” your way through it if you’re very patient. For me it was worth it to get the good ending, so I’m glad I stuck with it. If platforming isn’t your forte I can see why you’d rather not…
Beatles Rock Band was great fun, and I wish I still had my copy so I can learn basic drumkit rudiments from Ringo. Given you learned proper technique (as I already had in drumline), all I needed was practice and Ringo’s rudiments to actually learn how to play a real drumset. That game could have done it for me. Sadly…
Spoiler for that first moral choice in Edgewater:
I’ll forgive your slight against Outer Worlds if you forgive me for still enjoying it.
Candlejack > Bloody Mar--
I guess I’m blowing things up in my mind. Now that I think on it, my worries about running a campaign for kids are the same worries I have for running an adults-campaign: namely that they’ll be murder hobos and have no interest whatsoever in the plot. I’m still sure it comes with it’s own challenges, but it probably co…
I got the same level of excitement when I looked up the menu music on youtube and found out the composer is Justin Bell (of Pillars of Eternity fame). I’ve listened to that soundtrack dozens of times, so I’m very excited for the music.
Good luck! It takes a special person to DM for kids. I’m not sure I’m brave enough.
*shilling intensifies* If you have an Xbox or PC you can buy Game Pass Ultimate for $1 for your first month and play Outer Worlds on there! I believe after that it’s $15 a month, but that would still mean 5 months of game time for the cost of 1 game at retail.
Witcher 3 took me so long that the idea of playing it again has no appeal to me, as much as I absolutely adored it. Though I did accidentally let Triss go and accidentally romance Yen, so if I ever did do it over I would change that. (As for how that accidentally happens - I thought Triss would be safer away from…
Witcher 3 is a great game and if you have any interest at all in finishing it you should definitely make it a priority. Game has content for days. I personally put in about 170ish hours for the main game, the two DLC’s, and a good majority of the side quests.
God bless Tom, his wacky dance, and his confusing Jamaican accent. And while we’re blessing people, bless the localization team for Shenmue. This game must have been a nightmare to take abroad, with the amount of voice actors and lines needed. For the amount of work they had to do, I honestly think they did a good…
Hello all!
One big pro that’s less xbox-specific and more geared towards Microsoft is their Microsoft rewards program. I’ll sound like a shill describing it, but basically: if you use bing, get achievements on your xbox, and complete various reward quests, you get points towards gift cards. One of those rewards is Xbox Game Pass…
Will do! I did watch my brother play a mini-game in the arcade and that actually did look pretty fun. Apologies if my initial post seemed to complain, I’m just still getting to the meat of the game!
Eventually you can unlock more stuff in the shop above, and in a certain DLC you’ll need a ton of Geo for...reasons. One thing you’ll find as you go along in Hollow Knight is that, somewhere along the way, you got good. It’s one of the most satisfying things when an enemy that used to give you so much trouble is now…
I’m excited for that about Shenmue! I’d have to say my initial impression is mostly because I know very little about what type of game it’s supposed to be. I think as well I’d have a very different opinion of it if I had played it when it first came out. I’ll keep you updated.
