This week I completed Luigi’s Mansion 3! Not much to add that I haven’t been saying for weeks -a funny game that constantly stayed clever. Here and there a concept wouldn’t land, which would lead to frustration, but because YMMV on what concepts land and what don’t I’ll chalk it up to me just not thinking clearly. The

To expand on what others are saying about this Good Place not being super satisfying: a big distinction the writers (might have) forgot about is the difference between happiness and pleasure, which is basic Aristotle. He says the life of a hedonist is the life of a grazing cow - you’re getting your desires met but

Gotcha. I’m in the same boat but have only learned one quantum thing. Hoping to figure out the Quantum Moon and all that soon!

Very true. How much have you played so far?

I’ve been enjoying Outer Wilds but screwing up navigation for a critical platforming piece is definitely frustrating, as usually it means I’ll have to try again next loop. I’m still very much enjoying the mood of the game and the player-directed nature of it.

Speaking of bad DBZ rpgs, did anyone else play the GBA game, Legacy of Goku?
It’s, uh, still the same story. But it’s also worse so there’s that! It was good enough for kid-me though, and I played all the way through it and leveled everyone up as high as they could go. I highly doubt it would hold up on the replay.

I’m fine with Goku existing as long as his strength starts to decrease. Like he hits a wall that a Saiyan-Human hybrid would not. There’s a lot more dramatic potential in that than sidelining Gohan and just repeating the past few arcs of Goku getting stronger to beat an enemy.

1.) Toriyama shouldn’t have stuck to his gut and not listened to the fanboys. Saying Gohan is stronger than Goku, and then making him weaker than Goku because he sells T-shirts, was a mistake. Yes, I am a Gohan fan and the Cell Saga is the best.
2.) I saw someone suggest they run through Dragon Ball Super’s story

In Gritty’s defense, the kid deserved it.

I was really happy they just let Jason know about Romeo & Juliet without turning that into a joke about his stupidity. His stupidity has been cartoonish before, yes, but it’s nice to show he actually does retain some things. Helps him not be so one-note.

I did a top 100 games of the 10's, so I shudder at the thought of making a list like covering the last 40 years. Great comment as always Sam! Which decade would you say had your favorite innovation?

Good write-up! Human Fall Flat raises a great point that there are still games that are funny to play, even if they never tell a joke. My brothers and I really enjoy the Trials series of games, both for their absurdity as well as the wonky ragdoll physics. That only gets you so far on a comedic level, but it is still

I really wish I didn’t mourn in puns...but I can’t change who I am. Pun thread starts here.

We’re only 7 comments in at time of writing, so I better not jinx it, but there is a surprising amount of nuanced discussion about Sword/Shield in these comments. Good on you Gameological / AV Games.

There are a surprising amount of fans that are disappointed there isn’t dismemberment in this game. Which like, I get that’s how lightsabers work, but the ESRB and the MPAA are very different organizations. The lightsaber combat in this game is very satisfying even if it doesn’t act 100% like a lightsaber, and as a

I mentioned it last week, but I am on a game-buying freeze until 3.5 games are beat: Jedi: Fallen Order, Luigi’s Mansion 3, KOTOR 2, and solid progress in Pillars of Eternity. Being almost done the first two, it’s not as ambitious as it sounds. I just have a problem focusing I guess.

Personally I do the math like this: knock the last digit off. This would make Baby Yoda a non-verbal 5-year old, and Yoda a 90-year old. Yoda would be training Jedi by age 10, which is feasible considering he was likely a prodigy (this is Star Wars we’re talking ‘bout, every main character is a prodigy) and physical

His parents were killed in an Imperial raid and he was saved by a Mandalorian soldier.

Hello all! Been busy during the holidays, but I did do an end-of-the-year roundup of sorts! While we were live commentating on this year’s Game Awards, the gameological discord decided we should do one of our own. Here’s my post if you’re interested!
