“steeply” depends on the city. I work for a bookstore that supplies the city’s libraries and the discount isn’t as steep as you’d imagine, or at least for my city, which isn’t the richest
Libraries buy the books, usually lots of copies. Anybody who protests libraries because creators don’t get paid is not even worthy of debate.
