I’ve always wondered why “cannon” used collectively doesn’t have an “s” for the plural, while, as in the sentence here, similar-seeming plurals like “firearms” do.

The biggest impediment to preventing tanking will always be that it is much easier to lose than to win. No matter what the system, you can scheme to put yourself in best position with strategic losing.

Wouldn’t you get all kinds of weird sandbagging schemes with teams maneuvering through various ways to suck even more horrendously until elimination and then miraculously become good?

If you are “working” essentially as a volunteer, how can you say you are exploited? I know it is a terrible thing that getting paid for writing is now elusive, but if you are going along with the scheme and contributing your labor, what is your claim to recompense?
