This is super-heartening to someone of my age who was raised (and mostly lived) in a time in which we were supposed to be flattered by this sort of attention. And we questioned our own damn selves when we felt discomfited and somehow shamed when it occurred.

When someone treats everyone around them as if they were disposable, it’s naive and insane to think they won’t treat you like that one day.

Of course she’s not nice. You don’t make it that far as a woman in a cutthroat environment if you’re nice. But she’ll get more shit for it than other powerful men who are equally powerful and unapologetically ambitious.

Whatever André. I’m sure he sat quietly as she belittled, used and discarded many others. By all accounts, he’s just as much of a mean girl as she is but now that he’s been discarded he wants to complain? He wasted a lot of years and didn’t take advantage of many opportunities available to him. Now that he’s

Oh, you said Jennifer Coolidge. My bad. lol

you’re gross, I can’t believe these peoples tragedy has been reduced to your need to win this argument.

There is a lot of clutter there, but that island is so large that even with the knickknacks there’s a good amount of work space.  Plus she says early in the video that she uses the farm table for prep work.  Maybe she just likes to sit down when she’s doing a ton of chopping and peeling?

The fundamental difference is intent (theirs, which you cannot know) and tone (yours). “Kinda stupid” can mean they weren’t well aware of the social distancing rules, or that they figured their rural isolation exempted them, but in any case it’s a benign state of affairs. You’ve already explained what “arsehole”

You talk too much

I remember not long ago TLC talking about being bankrupt despite their albums selling millions. It’s not really a turning point so much as a continuation and stagnation of artist’s having very little rights over their music.

Honestly, I can’t think of another incident in North America that involved such diabolical planning and utter cold-blooded purpose. I think this will be characterized in future as unprecedented in scope and complexity.

In Canada it's all over the news about how this is the worst mass shooting since Polytechnique, and how this tragedy also started with domestic violence/violence towards women.

I thought that when I first saw the scene, thinking, I know Tyler Perry isn’t gonna serve as an expert on quality black cinema, but Tyler addressed it himself by saying he didn’t give a fuck about what white folks and white critics want. IMO, it’s an exercise in unapologetic blackness.

There is this special kind of not Black enough critique that Black creators get. Nobody ever watched “Friends”, and asked “Is this White enough?” (Although NBC execs for sure said that when watching Living Single).

I’m fairly certain he smuggled them in from the states. No way he bought them here.

It was meticulously planned. The first vehicle he drove was actually a decommissioned cruiser he bought from an auction that he painted. He had a second vehicle, an SUV, that he used to throw police off the chase by ditching the cruiser. He also was in full uniform so he executed people when the opened their front

His picture is everywhere in the press. We have lots of handguns in Canada. He had a handgun ban since the early 2000's but we have a black market just like everywhere else.

I find the interest with what Kenya Barris is doing fascinating.

I finished it last night. It’s basically a mix of Curb and a richer Blackish. There were moments that had me laughing so hard. I enjoyed it.

Yikes, this was tough medicine. Very fair, very tough.
