I never really cared for Stewart myself. I just never believed that he was any more than a talking head saying somebody elses words. Maher has a truckload of issues to be sure but I never doubt that what he says is what he believes.

Friday’s show was actually great panel discussion. Hearing differing opinions are good. Kudos to Bill Maher for always pushing against groupthink.

To reduce his contribution to television to saying that the people watching him just “hope . . . [he] won’t use a racial slur, belittle the #MeToo movement or an entire religion, or find smirky solidarity with a self-promoting white supremacist” is to miss his entire point and to make it for you without even knowing…

Social Courage is what no one has in any actual social situation, therefore, this term only exists in theory.
