@cinnamonster: Apple's App Store is for mobile only. Google has the Android Market to compete with that, and they're very comparable. This is for PCs, meaning it's closer to Steam.

@lonewanderer: It would be a bit redundant to put a distribution service inside a distribution service. Unlike music and movies, games can be standalone apps themselves, so Steam would be competing with the Android Market.

@TheFaze: For the Android Market, it's 30%. For the Chrome Web Store, it's 5% plus 30 cents.

@Vanderhuge: Google is going to charge 5% plus a transaction fee, so advertising wouldn't be necessary.

@planetarian: Conservative media watchdogs + industry risk aversion = no Adults Only games in retail or even on consoles. Combine that with limitations on advertising and PC download-only games are simply not viable.

@SlowEP3: "Idiot" is a bit strong. Try "naive."

@Hatberg: Exactly. Games must compete not only with each other but the gamer's life as well. The success of casual games probably has more to do with bite-size game time than simplistic mechanics. As developers notice this, perhaps instead of the 40 hour "novels" we'll get "short stories" of a few hours or so. This

@Shinta: The summon-transportation thing was gimmicky... and disturbing.

@NarooN: Starting with the one after the last you played (Angel of Darkness?), the games went over to a new developer (Crystal Dynamics). In my opinion, these newer games are a lot better (I agree that Angel of Darkness was flawed). You might want to consider giving Anniversary, Legend and Underworld a try. They

@NarooN: A critic said Chloe was a better model female heroine than Lara Croft? Because the "Plus, I thought Chloe was hot so yeah" comment undermines your point a bit.

Ubisoft! Stop it! IF you have exclusive preorder bonuses, then also make them DLC—or in other words, not exclusive. YOU WILL MAKE MORE MONEY, because the majority of your consumers won't throw away money on preordering a game they already preordered, but they *will* buy DLC characters. Are retailers really paying you

@Jack McCauley: I want to play a video game where I *do* have a problem with killing others, even animals, and even when it is absolutely necessary. That seems much more emotionally realistic to me. Our aggressive and competitive nature does not necessarily require violence and death to satiate. I like games like Mass

I loved Mass Effect and BioWare is one of my favorite developers, but you have got to be kidding me. BioWare is one of the most intelligent and progressive developers out there—but this is only a good trailer if you think hype equals substance.

@mopo: Not all gay gamers like those kinds of games though. Homosexuality needs broader recognition than two games— and Mass Effect only had a lesbian relationship, which is like... half-ass.

Heteronormativity. That's why the survey is important. Gays don't necessarily need to be catered to; they need to be recognized. Realistic gays are nonexistent in the majority of games—either censored or stereotyped. I don't want to play in a fantasy world which rejects me, while I'm forced to watch relationships and

Cone fail.

Not enough skin showing to be Greek.

@Madeira: Yup yup. What a pain in the ass.

@dgkz0idberg: Maybe doppelganger is a word in the English language that was adopted from German?

I @D Mitsuki: Your knowledge of game form is epic fail. Major importante the narrative can be.
