"A taser wasn't enough? a bullet to the leg would not have stopped the supposed attack? I'm with you as far as waiting for the whole truth, but I seriously doubt we will ever get it seeing as how this should never have happened in the first place."

"Colorblindness is racism. Pretending everything is a-ok and lah dee dah only works if you are not part of the oppressed minority."

Do you hate thinking? Do you hate honest discussion and debate? WTF is wrong with you?

Holy christ on a cracker, no one here dismissed anything!

"Now, let me make this about you. .... it's not about you."

Loved your post until you turned to Marxism.

What a terribly stupid and Gawker-typical response to something thoughtful. GFY.

"To me the thing that bothers me about this is that men feel they have the right to inform you of their opinion on their looks,"

No, you are sane. Don't let the lunatic fringe around here make you unhappy, unpleasant, and bitter.

I was hanging out with a girl the other day and she was dressed nicely. I was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and boots. Some guy saw us and said "look at her in a $200 dress, next to.... that guy!" She loved it, and laughed and said it was a $6 dress.

You might just be the only sane person here, though.

Because maybe they aren't into men? And how do you know that they don't compliment men too?

"how long has he been watching me? has he followed me before?"

On Friday, I held a door for a girl and "go ahead, you're beautiful," just blurted out of my mouth. I've no idea why, I said it but she certainly loved it and great conversation and fun followed.

This is one of the most mind-numbingly self-important things I've ever read.

"I guess I don't know what it's like. I would never in a million years tell a woman something like that, but I don't have the confidence to even say hello to people on the phone, man or woman. I don't know what I'd do if a woman would say something like that to me."

"it just throws me off. I have to think of exactly the right way to respond. "

"While the idea of having a large family scares the shit out of me,"

What a terribly stupid idea.

That's your take-away from Fifteen? Really? I think it's a pretty amazing song, written by an amazing young woman.
