Did they? Seems like most of the interesting stuff from E3 is 2018 (or later).

Had the "pleasure" of seeing this in February knowing next to nothing about it, which is sadly rare these days. And… I did not see it going anywhere near where it does. I did know it won at Cannes and so, thought it might have been more of a low-key, uplifting drama. It reminded me of Kore-eda's work at first. Good

He didn't have much choice, it was his only pillow.

To be fair to Ubisoft, they did take an extra year for the first time since the first sequel.

Brothers was a powerful experience, and this looks like a seriously promising follow-up. It's cool to see a unique storytelling technique like this, and I hope it works as well during the actual gameplay as it does in the trailer.

Thanks for sharing. Seriously.

In regard to the explanation, I think it works because it is up to each viewer whether to believe Nora's story or not (and that Kevin does believe it). That little bit of uncertainty was all they needed and quite fitting for the show.

I had the same mentality beforehand (hoping she would not show up again), but as soon as she appeared I decided to embrace it. I think either decision would have worked but am glad she chose to live.

Damn, man. That needed to be said and you fucking nailed it.

It Comes at Night sounds more like a drama with suspense elements. I do not think it is meant to scare as much as be intense throughout.

So no major surprises but after the abomination last year that is a relief. I feel like this could have been damn near perfect if the Ramsay and Ostlund switched places.

Kidman's wasn't created for her. It was a special award in honor of the 70th anniversary. I'm glad she got it. Everyone assumed it was going to go to Haneke.

There have been some positive takes too! Seems destined for cult status.

I was disheartened (but not surprised) to read that. I knew the Palme had only been awarded to a female filmmaker once (and even then in a fucking tie), but director as well is a bummer. Hopefully the tide continues to turn with this.

Last year, there was a tie for Best Director as well. I doubt Barsanti looked into it. There seems to be at least one every year.

I will echo that sentiment and hope you will be able to return next year.

Which is well below last year's two DCEU "failures". It all depends on what metric of success they use. I didn't say it will fail completely, but Warner Bros. could look at it as their biggest disappointment yet. I would not put it past them.

Even A24 cannot resist the siren call of establishing a cinematic universe.

If she is being genuine, and I believe she is, then it is depressingly fucked up that this rumor started in the first place, considering it is the first female-led superhero production both in front of and behind the camera.

Finally watched the first season of Twin Peaks. So damn good. Do not know why I waited this long since I adore most of Lynch's work. Will continue the odyssey at a robust pace.
