My Asian wife was surprised too at how we talked, we explained that my aunt calling her “china” was not an insult and after a few years she got it. When we visit them she falls right into it. What part of that do you not get? Or is it that you don’t want to?

OK,sorry but I’m Hispanic my family and friends and Latin exes have called me “Moreno” in the past, I’ve called some “rubia” or “negra” or “flaca, gorda, my Vida, mi amor” etc. and it’s an term of endearment. Sorry because non-Hispanics don’t get it does not mean we have to stop.

I can’t comment on everything said in this forum, but the first difference I’d point out is that most Jezebel commenters aren’t running for president, and aren’t held to the same standards of diplomacy and decorum that the leader of one of the worlds’ superpowers would be.

Everyone doesn’t talk that way, but it is certainly not uncommon for men to talk to other men about women that way. I love how everyone is pretending that it almost never happens, just because it’s Donald Trump. I belong to a really horrible FB group of local folks who mostly support Trump and are racist/awful in a lot of ways. Since my job requires working with the public, I don’t participate but do use it as a way to figure out who the most horrible people are in my area. It’s such a train wreck; I have a hard time looking…

Really? Who doesn’t love a game in horrible weather? Games in snowstorms or rainstorms are awesome. Hell, people still talk about the Ice Bowl and that’s almost 50 years ago.

Right? All the people who were there now get to say ‘I watched the hurricane game.’ Which is a hell of a lot cooler than saying ‘I had tickets to the game that was cancelled by the hurricane.’
