Nothing new here. We've always had pretentious types, we've always had hipster types, and we always will. Sure, some of them genuinely like non-mainstream films, but plenty of them are just trying to be different with their pretentious behavior.

Total agreement on your "fucking kidding me" choices.
Not really. Pretentious still means "Attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed" (at least according to the Oxford Dictionary and common usage). The term applies perfectly to a huge swath of AV Club writing, especially many of these movie picks.
Well, duhdoy, of course it's just "according to the av club staff." That is clearly indicated by these articles being ON the AV Club and WRITTEN BY the AV Club staff.
I assume he meant Rik Mayall, who is in Shock Treatment. I guess he can't like him all that much if he gets the name that wrong, eh?
At the end of the demo, the red player shoots the Invaders. It looks like they cannot shoot the Invaders until the PacMan runs across one of the little icons between the dots. (Might be a coincidence, but it looks intentional.) It's like a power-up that allows Invader-shooting, I think.
What a letdown after the first few episodes this season. This was 4th-season bad in my opinion—bad pacing, lousy jokes, idiotic conflict between Jeff and the dean…so many weaknesses, so few strengths. C.
It's been a word since 1947 at least.
But when the "next opportunity" doesn't come around because you're a "girl comic," you're just supposed to…what, exactly? Hmm?
It's listed as a 2-hour 12-minute TV movie from what I can find.
There was a 2002 remake. Sadly.
Ignore him. He's an asshole posting spam for his flight-charter company. He's posting links disguised as "leaked footage" and other such stuff. Total spam/scam/bullshit.
You deserve the slap. SHA doesn't start with the bass line. It starts with the electric guitar riff followed by "Turn it up." So…SLAP!
Atticus, please stop the feeding the obvious troll. You are giving him delusions of importance.
"That's a rationalization." So is the vast majority of human mental activity. Big deal.
Yeah, the reviewer really misinterpreted that entire concept.
You're wrong! STAR TREK WILL NEVER DIE! (looks at Abrams-Trek films) Um, is there such as thing as "double dead?"
The Lost finale blew! Well, it had some good moments, so it mostly blew. It was—

Oh, get over it, nerd. That was nothing like the godawful travesty of a DUMP ON THE HEAD OF STAR TREK FANS THAT THE ENTERPRISE SERIES FINALE WAY DEAR GOD WHAT A PIECE OF UNRELENTING SEHLAT SH—
Yep. And it was funny as hell both times, and probably every other time he has or will use it.
