I don't think we have the obligation of decreasing population. I think we should just stop growing, and start using better our resources. Do we really need to change our phone every 1 or 2 years? Do we really need to drive our cars to work?

I don't really think he said we should stop using technology. He's just pointing out that technology enables us to consume earth resources faster then we should. The main cause of that isn't technology, but our consumerist society.
