I don't want to burst your bubble, but we developed rather complex ERP software on our company with HTML, Canvas and CSS. Sure, our systems aren't doesn't need lot's of multimedia features, but you can't say our app isn't complex just because it doesn't use your favorite technology.

Try installing Flash on a 64 bits Linux distro. They took YEARS to support 64bits and it's still beta!

Get a Ubuntu live cd and try using those Flash heavy websites for some time. You will hate flash as much as I do.
