Far Side and Calvin & Hobbes were the ultimate one-two punch in the comics pages every day. It was like being raised by two older siblings; one sensitive and wise, the other a stoner dropout.

My all-time favorite: two explorers find the journal of a colleague whose tattered remains are all around, with the last entry saying that tomorrow he’s going to test how gorillas react to a joy buzzer.

I think of the Midvale school for the gifted every time I push a door handle that says “pull”.
