What, are you stupid

Also, Gen Z is overwhelmingly moving away from punctuation (even though the original comment was left by “Boomer”).

In the comment section’s defence, TNG is like 97% of his career to date. He’s done voices in some cartoons we haven’t seen, and has appeared as Wil Wheaton off TNG in a bunch live action things.

Yeah. Tickle me elmo was the christmas craze friggin 28 years ago.

Elmo completely no sold the attack.  It wasn’t like he was bawling his puppet eyes out afterwards.

Elmo has been around for like 30 years. I don’t really care that Larry attacked him, but isn’t Elmo a cherished icon for at least some kids who are now adults and have kids of their own?

Joking aside, kids DO pretend in exactly the same way and it isn’t always the sign of something bad happening.

and I probably won’t be here for it. cheers to the sweet embrace of death.

Wil has turned into a humorless, judgmental, self-righteous prick. It seems like I only see his name anymore because he was again scolding someone for some extremely minor infraction.

This just seems like an example of “just because something upset you, that doesn’t mean anybody did anything wrong.” Like the kayfabe around Muppets is that you treat them as real in that you don’t acknowledge the puppeteer, not that you treat them as real in that you wouldn’t do things to Muppets if you wouldn’t do

If they’re young enough to be home instead of in school, and young enough to think Elmo is a living creature, then as long as Elmo doesn’t let it bother him, it’s not going to bother them. The average three-year old is not as emotionally brittle as Wil Wheaton.

So if your child sees Larry fake-fighting Elmo and gets upset, you just explain that they were playing around and it’s not real. How can you be mad at Larry David for doing a very Larry David thing?

As a father of two, had either of my sons been upset by this, it would have been a matter of, “Elmo and the man were just pretending.” That’s all. That would have worked at virtually any age. And it’s not like I’m some genius parent.

I’ve always disliked Wheaton so this is validating to me! Larry put the puppet in a wrestling hold for two seconds and pantomined clotheslining it. That’s it. Elmo appeared unhurt afterwards (since he’s, you know, a puppet.) Wheaton writing like Elmo is a real four year old child is unhinged.

I mean I guess some kids might have been upset but I think most kids are smart enough to understand that Elmo is in fact fake, and even if they aren’t their parents (or guardians, whoever) can say it was a joke and brush it off. This is not some sort of traumatic event. Or say they were playing and that’s not the kind

Children who are too small to understand Elmo is a puppet will know that a man attacked someone they love for no reason”.

They know and they haven’t been thrilled about the X-Box and PC parity. Anything that makes it so people have less reason to get an X-Box is, to them, the worst move possible. Never mind Microsofts stranglehold on that market too, it’s not The Brand. But that’d not quite as serious a transgression as putting games on

It’s always the biggest corporations too, Apple, Tesla, crazy how they’ve all built these insanely loyal fanbases, these people are so eager to spend thousands on more techno-crap from their favorite corporation worth billions.

Under California law, there shouldn’t have been a citizen’s arrest at all. Absent an immediate, ongoing threat, you’re just supposed to file a police report and let them perform the arrest at the appropriate time.
