Yeah. We’ll never know. If nothing else, I think he would have been a massive improvement because he would have actually picked up where The Last Jedi left off instead of scrapping it all in a retcon essentially.

Has it occurred to you that maybe you’ve spent way too much time thinking about this? Or that perhaps, “I’m super knowledgeable on this one specific thing, so I didn’t like it for reasons that are unique to me” isn’t a fair criticism of a movie?

Say what you will about Jurassic World (and the less said about its sequel, the better), but it was a competent piece of blockbuster filmmaking. I haven’t seen The Book of Henry, so I can’t comment on that one.

Intermediary steps that weren’t clearly explained, weren’t paced well, and didn’t hold my interest. Which is the entire point that I’m making.

I actually thought Vin was pretty good in A Man Apart, but I haven’t seen it since it came out.

If anything, The Rock has more Masina energy, but you’re on the right track.

Cue mission.

What? What did it do to Finn? And when exactly did Kylo “abuse” Rey? He held her prisoner, sure, but using feminist language like that in the context of a fantasy war film is completely out of place.

realizing too late that Colin Trevorrow sucked

But Rogue One is much more in the tradition of British war movies where people march forward to die as silent unsung heroes.

I agree. Rogue One is super overrated because it has a well-choreographed, downer ending that somehow makes people forget that the rest of the film is mediocre at best.

I mean, how can you not laugh at a guy talking about “Felliniesque” producing, which isn’t even a thing. Maybe he meant Kubrickian given how Kubrick is famous for being hard on his actors. Still not the correct usage, but at least it would make some kind of sense.

And vapid people on Instagram call themselves “influencers.” Doesn’t make it less cringey simply because it’s a popular term.

Reply that ups the vitriol tenfold and includes just enough thinly veiled, racism, sexism, and/or homophobia to make it clear that the commenter should have never been brought up into the light.

Comment that will remain in the remain in the greys.

Oh I’m sure he’s a statistical outlier with an abnormally high IQ. Or that’s what he tells people at least.

Yeah. That’s definitely the way to go. But sometimes I get frustrated seeing only one side of the story being told and jump in anyway against my better judgment. In my defense, I do think it’s better for a white person to be standing up for another set of POC rather than pulling a “What about me???” as if usually the

This was an instance of me inadvisably jumping into a conversation where I had no place as a white person as laserface suggests so I probably deserved it, but I mentioned on a Root article about colorism that this was the reality for a lot of light-skinned and mixed race black people and I got dragged to hell for it.

Get a job, internet.
