I wouldn’t go that far. The writers on this site definitely read and love comics. And writing about unheralded indie titles is a more valuable service than writing about comics everyone has heard of. Though lots of people drop in and out of superhero comics and it’s nice to know when one of them is at a creative peak

No Marvel at all this year. Kind of surprised none of the X-Men relaunch titles made it.

Reloading the page fixes it. Though still annoying.

I would like to believe your wife has good taste since I like Anna Kendrick and it’s always better to have more good art in the world, but if those are the best jokes they could come up with for the trailer...

To be fair, they happened to launch in a year when most young, urban professionals were forced to work from home, which isn’t their fault. Though I think you’re right that they weren’t going to succeed long term regardless.

My church has been closed and online only since the pandemic started. If they started claiming persecution and pushing to open back up, I’d be looking for a new church.

That’s true. A lot more people watched the Red Wedding live, especially since there isn’t even a way to watch The Mandalorian “live.” Though I feel like people were still careful not to spoil it for those who were watching time-shifted. And of course those who had read the books concealed the secret a lot longer than

Don’t forget A Fistful of Dollars, an unauthorized Italian remake of a Japanese film with an international cast pretending to be American cowboys.

I remember liking it alright at the time. Though the only one I can still sing at all at this point is “Saint Joe and the School Bus.” The rest of the tracks are just vague memories.

The friendship was not damaged. We’re still relatively close. Thankfully, I’d seen his band play live before, so it wasn’t like a one-time deal.

I missed a friend’s band playing at another venue one time because the Spin Doctors came to my college and I had to wait for “Two Princes.”

Especially Creed.

Yeah. The album they released in 2002 got a lot of good press, so I checked it out and it is indeed good. They lost me again after that though.

I had a former coworker who was like that with Marcy Playground. Just goes to show that no matter how quickly their 15 minutes ticked by, every band is someone’s favorite band.

The thing I appreciate the most is his unwavering commitment to calling everyone “the guy from that band” rather than using their actual names. It’s a good bit.

I disagree. There may have been outside fan discussions of that ostensible mystery, but the show itself didn’t frame it as a mystery at all and the preceding episode didn’t point towards a Jedi meetup in the finale, setting up the rescue mission episode we got instead. I wasn’t completely thrown off by Luke showing up

But this is a perfect example of a time when most people would have no idea that they needed to avoid a topic. The first season finale of The Mandalorian was good but didn’t include any huge revelations. How are people who haven’t seen the season two finale supposed to know that something crazy happens that they’d

I imagine The AV Club will make an official version from their fancy business account at some point, but I made a Letterboxd list of this for those, like me, who don’t want to wait.

I figured they were considering it a 2019 movie, but it’s not on that list either and was in their Best Films of 2020 so far list. I didn’t love it, but it’s better than Mank.
