Weird choice by Timmy Chalms, but why do we not talk more about how all of Billie Eilish’s clothes are terrible? I get that she’s young still and that she doesn’t want to wear tight-fitting clothes, but why does that necessitate that she look like a Long Island grandmother got run over by a Hot Topic?

Nope. Not a manga. It was a completely original story.

I groaned so hard at that line and my wife hit me on the shoulder.

I actually encouraged my parents to watch Green Book. It was anti-racism on their level. Major Boomer energy.

You mean wearing a hat outdoors only? It sounds like you’re saying it was verboten for people to wear a hat outdoors when I think you mean indoors.

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not about Bong being a “young upstart obscure South Korean director.” Hopefully?

I like comic book movies when they’re good, but Scorsese has a 50 year career supporting his point. The idea that he’d need more Oscars to prove his worth as a filmmaker and give him the right to criticize others is ludicrous.

Nah... Dicaprio was as good as he’s ever been in Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood. Stupendous performance that got less love than it should have because he already won his long overdue Oscar for The Revenant

I hate Life is Beautiful and I really like Jojo Rabbit. There are many reasons for that, but here are two easy ones:

I thought it was implied that anything that made my top-ten of the year was something I’d consider great. Though I suppose it could be a down year for film in general, but I don’t think that was the case. I’d say Parasite, Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood, The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit (which I forgot to mention previously)

It’s be cool to finally have a real cinematic version of that.

Parasite, Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood, The Irishman, and Little Women all made my top 10 of the year and Marriage Story was in my top-15. 1917 was just outside the top 15. And that’s with 70+ movies watched, so not critic-level but not bad. I’d personally swap out Ford V Ferrari and Joker for something more

There’s a lot of Best Picture nominees before the ‘90s that I haven’t seen, so we’re probably still missing a couple, but there’s also Chocolat in 2000 and Cries and Whispers in ‘74.

I wouldn’t mind that being the case, but it looks like 1917 is a lock at this point. It’s been winning all of the awards leading up to the Oscars and they all share voters.

Pretty weak field?!

It’s one thing to have bad movie opinions, but it’s quite another to be an absolute asshole about them.

Yeah. I like Barry Keoghan a lot, but that was a weird casting choice.

Are we not supposed to? He’s terrible but also great.

Yes. Lock him away forever. In a cell with Cowboy Troy, Bubba Sparxxx, and Gangstagrass.
