To add - the Viper used by Motor Trend was a pre-production car. In their follow up shoot out they used an actual production car which contained several updated suspension components and they were much happier with the Viper as a result.
I don't think I've ever heard something bad about the X5M. The X6M completely eclipses it in the press.
At first I shared your point of view, but then I watched the video. It shows the guy get out of the car, surrounded by cops, wobble around with his hands out (obviously nothing in them), then they shoot him, he falls to the ground, dies.
After watching the footage if he was calling family members DURING the chase then I would personally have a hard time supporting the mentally ill.
If he was mentally ill there are other concerns at play here. In PA various mental illnesses could disqualify you for a license.
Be interested if that could have an effect in CA.
